Joanne S. Howard
As an animal lover, Jo Howard enjoys painting them, capturing their expressions and personalities which makes her art personally rewarding. Jo Howard showed signs of artistic talent in kindergarten, picking up her first oil paintbrush at the age of thirteen and she hasn't slowed down since.
She had the opportunity to study under Sharon Tomason in Colorado Springs, Colorado, who taught her the "glazing" technique used by the Masters. Howard continues to use this technique today, which gives her work its softness and makes the brush strokes seem to disappear. Describing her talent as "God-given," Howard is largely self-taught.
