P. Carter-Hood
Her interest in art was inspired and nurtured by a wonderful high school teacher-Mary Winifred Walters Norris.
She has lived in several places around the world from Illinois, California, the Philippines, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, Washington, D.C., and Virginia. When she travels, she loves to go to art museums and galleries where her art perspective and appreciation is increased. Wherever she's lived, she's taken art classes or workshops. She's had the privilege of studying with several fine artists such as Siva Chambers, Pearl Chang, Jan Ledbetter, Phyllis Greenway, Nancy Midgette, Betty Brown, Carrie Burns Brown, Polly Hammett, Bob Holland, Alex Powers, Don Getz, and others.
She enjoys art. She's constantly learning either on her own or through art classes or workshops. She loves beautiful things-they don't have to be expensive or spectacular but they do have to be meaningful! Even everyday objects or views can become beautiful and meaningful works of art! Color, texture, design, and contrast attract her interest!
Her artistic interpretation is usually expressed in water-based media-watercolor, acrylic, etc. Her artwork may be a watercolor, a collage, or mixed media creation-but it usually reflects something beautiful and/or meaningful!
