John Butler
John's love of art and photography began in high school when he worked in a camera shop and darkroom. With this as his a rather modest foundation in the techniques of composition, color, light and presentation he was able to begin his adventure in fine art photography. Early in John's thirties he was fortunate enough to become a "professional traveler" for over 5 years and spent much of his spare time immersed in the classical art of some of the major museums of the Western Europe and Asia. However it wasn't until the advent of practical digital photography and processing that John was able to experiment and develop his real artistic creativity. At the same time the developing internet technology opened avenues of learning and practicing this new media thus allowing him to continue developing his art.
To this day if John is not shooting photos he is studying , on line, almost all of his spare time. And he also continues to study,through the internet, centuries of great art. Of course nothing beats actually standing in front of the great masterpieces but this is a pretty good second best and should be a process that never ends.
