A resident of Williamsburg, VA, Pauline "Mike" Ridgway has a degree in Commercial Art. When she took her first calligraphy class in 1978, she was hooked on the subject. Since then she has taken many classes and workshops which introduced her to calligraphy as an element of collage.

Ridgway loves to play with the evocative power of texture, color, line, shape, and the contrast of light and dark. Using watercolor, exotic paper, acrylics, pastels, stamps, lace, yarn, printmaking techniques, Xerox transfers and anything that she can glue to paper in her work, Ridgway creates fanciful images with meaning.

Images scanned into her computer frequently find their way into her art. Her prints are produced on an Epson 2000P inkjet with archival (200 year) ink.
